Grandma's Banana Bread


Ingredients

3/4 cup butter

1 1/2 cup sugar

3 1/2 cups flour

3 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking soda

3 tablespoons lemon juice (can use apple cider vinegar as a 1 to 1 replacement)

2 cups mashed banana 4-6 bananas (the more ripe (black) the better)

3 eggs

3/4 cup milk (I have also used almond milk)

1/2 cup nuts (optional)


Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mash bananas and add lemon juice, set aside.

Cream sugar and butter with mixer.

Add eggs and beat with mixer 4 minutes or until light and fluffy.

Next while mixing add dry ingredients alternating with adding milk.

Add bananas and nuts (if desired) mix well.

Divide mixture between 2 well greased loaf pans.

Insert pans into 350 degree oven and bake for 1 hour

Once done baking you can insert a toothpick into the bread. If the bread is done the toothpick will come out clean.

Remove from pan, cut and ....
